While working in the film industry I started making myself fun funky earring to wear for work. I’d match my outfit (think rubber duck earrings and matching t-shirt) or incorporate the shows’ themes. People noticed, they smiled and started seeking me out on set to see what I was wearing. When pandemic hit, the world stopped. I used my downtime to design my earring using toys, games pieces and found objects. I was proud of my growing personal collection. The world and film production slowly started up again so I put my jewelry making aside, but only briefly. There were difficulties for the film industry and again, we shut down. I picked up my jewellery making again and remembered the Joy my fun funky earring brought people. I wanted others to be able to wear them and to spread Joy. Kozie Earrings was born. I started trying selling at any market I could get into and on-line. I was glad to be accepted to the 2024 Vancouver FanExpo. I was familiar with cosplay but there it was re-introduced and got up-close and personal. See my portfolio collection below.
