COSPLAY
After working my first Vancouver FanExpo I was hooked on the cosplay culture They were ‘my people’ and they like my products. That summer I went to Grande Prairie AB for their GrandCon 2024. Instead of my “basic” themed shirts I wear, I decided to try my hand at cosplaying a few different characters. For the 1st day it was Tinker Bell. Some of her challenges were doing her hair and making her wings. The 2nd day was a group: Alice in Wonderland. My dad was the White Rabbit. I made his hands and tail. Found a watch face and modified it into a earring for my dad. I took a clock and made it into a giant pocket watch. Already had the top hat rabbit ears combo. My mom was Alice herself. I once again modified a blue gown into Alice’s dress and white summer dress into her apron. Got a blond wig and added a headband. As my mom doesn’t have pierced ear, I made her poring tea pot and “drink me” potion bottle into clip ons. I went as The Queen of Hearts. I thrifted an old couch cover with black, grey and white hearts. Painted, beaded and draped that fabric into my dress. Enlarged “Queen of hearts” cards and made them into my stand-up card collar which I attached to my little black velvet bolero I made. I crafted my dangly queen of hearts card earrings, my little crown and card fan. Had/found the crinoline, nylons and shoes. Styled my hair and did my makeup.
